Wednesday, September 23 - Synergy/Hoonuit/HCPSS Connect Planned Maintenance - The vendor for Synergy has scheduled a mandatory maintenance window to complete updates on Wednesday, September 23 at 9 p.m. The window will last until all necessary updates have been successfully applied, which is anticipated to be approximately at 6 a.m. on Thursday, September 24. Users may experience times of no or sluggish response during this maintenance window. Once the work is complete, users may continue to log in as usual.
New Race and Ethnicity Self Identification in Workday
Action Needed: The Department of Human Resources encourages all employees to complete the NEW Race and Ethnicity Self Identification in Workday at their earliest convenience. This request is in accordance with revised policy from the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and guidance from the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). HCPSS is required to provide this information to MSDE, the EEOC, the Board of Education and other agencies.
The new reporting standards modernize and simplify the self-identification process through two key changes:
- Streamlined process: Race and ethnicity fields are now combined into a single category
- Increased representation: A new category has been added for Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) identities
Your participation ensures that HCPSS meets reporting requirements and gives every employee the opportunity to indicate their race/ethnicity more accurately. Please use this Quick Reference Card to navigate to the collection area in Workday to update your race/ethnicity.
