Happy Teacher Appreciation Week
Dear Colleagues,
I welcome you to join me in celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4-8. The passion, expertise and dedication demonstrated by our teachers continues to impress me. When I visit schools, I see the profound impact they have on our students as they provide excellent instruction, care and support to help them pursue their dreams with confidence.
Ensuring our students have a safe place to learn and grow is paramount to their success and I am grateful knowing that our teachers are there for them to celebrate the wins and navigate the losses.
Our teachers play a powerful role in our students’ lives–encouraging them on days when they may feel deflated, sparking their curiosity by creating learning experiences, guiding them through challenging decisions, imparting their wisdom by modeling empathy and critical thinking, and so much more.
I want to thank each teacher for choosing this profession and choosing to prioritize Howard County students. We are continuing towards our goal of becoming a great school system for every student, and our teachers are the driving force behind that progress. Thank you for all that you do.
Sincerely,
Bill
