The mandatory countywide Professional Learning Day for HIGH SCHOOLS ONLY has been scheduled for Monday, November 23, 2015.
On September 3, 2015, the Superintendent provided to the Board modified implementation procedures to Policy 6080 Sustainability and Policy 10020 Use of School Facilities. Please see attachments.
All Employees of the Howard County Public School System are entrusted with the responsibility of expending funds on behalf of the Board of Education and have a fiduciary responsibility to follow the rules and guidelines promulgated by the Purchasing Office.
Animals in schools or offices, leashed or not, present safety, environmental, and liability issues.
Building Services and emergency personnel must have unobstructed access to inspect and maintain equipment.
Balloon launches and other activities that result in the release of helium-filled balloons into the atmosphere are prohibited in the HCPSS.
The release of information when someone is injured on school property or at a school sponsored event can present the possibility of liability to the school system.
