This circular establishes a process by which requests are made of our school-based administrators.

The policies in this circular have been updated to align with Policy 2020 Policy Development and Adoption.  A "Reviewed" date

has been added to the History section to reflect that the policies and implementation procedures were examined by the Superintendent's

Standing Policy Committee.

Modifications on each policy and/or implementation procedures are contained in this circular.  

These modifications were effective on August 14, 2014.

This circular addresses procedures and exposure control plan, exposure incident response, and mandated follow up are provided to eliminate or minimize exposures to bloodborne pathogens in accordance with the CDC, Occupational Safety and Health Administration Standard 29 CFR 1910.1030, “Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens” and Maryland State School Health Services Guidelines. These procedures are to be followed in the event of exposure to an employee, volunteer, or intern.

This circular addresses the fact that balloon launches are prohibited in the HCPSS.
